Description |
The action took place at Aden near the entrance to the Red Sea. The Sultan of Aden having been reduced to a state of poverty, decided to sell the town and port of Aden to Britain. However the Sultan's son opposed the handover. Troops and ships from India were despatched to defeat the rebels and take possession of town and port which were annexed to British India.
