HMS Glasgow (1814) (4th)

This the fourth HMS Glasgow was a fourth rate, 50-gun ship
constructed of pitch pine.
Built by Wigram & Green, of Blackwall, launched 21-Feb-1814, 159ft long, 42ft wide and of 1,260 tons builders measurement. Armed with 28 x 24pdr guns. She was built as one of forty ships to counter the large and powerful United States frigates. The war soon ended, but not before Glasgow was rated as one of the best gunnery ships in the Navy.
Won the Battle Honour: Algiers 1816 and Navarino 1827.
