HMS Superb (1845)  (5th)
2nd Rate 80-gun

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name Superb was built at Pembroke Dock as a 2nd Rate, 80-gun, ship-of-the-line.

She was 190ft long, 57ft wide and of 2,583 tons builders measurement.

She served without facing action, in home waters and the Mediterranean.

Took part in the Royal Fleet Review 1845.

Due to the increasing need for hospital beds during an outbreak of Cholera and the influx of casualties from the Crimean War, Superb was lent by the War Department in 1858 to serve as hospital ship off Sheerness. 

Broken up at Portsmouth 18-Feb-1869.
