This the second ship to carry the name HMS Rodney was a second
rate, 92-gun, ship-of-the-line,
Built at Pembroke Dock, launched 18-Jun-1833 having spent six years on the stocks, 206ft long, 54ft 6in wide and of 2,598 tons builders measurement (bm). Took part in the Royal Fleet Review 1845 and the Royal Fleet Review 1856. Altered to a screw ship at Chatham and undocked 11-Jan-1860, tonnage increased to 2,770 tons bm, and armament reduced to 70-guns. Won the Battle Honours: Syria 1840 and Crimea 1854-55.
